Position Overview
We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Sales & Customer Support Specialist to support customers in selecting and purchasing building materials for residential and commercial projects. This role blends customer service, sales, and technical coordination, working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate orders, timely delivery, and overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying product needs and design specifications via phone and in person
- Serve as the main point of contact between customers and internal teams (purchasing, design, production, and delivery)
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, quotes, order status, and scheduling
- Proactively reach out to customers to build relationships and drive sales growth
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge and industry expertise
- Support customers across residential, rural, commercial, and industrial construction projects
- Identify sales opportunities through research, competitive analysis, and product recommendations
- Prepare accurate material takeoffs for construction projects (single- and multi-family)
- Provide technical support to drafting and engineering teams as needed
- Analyze and size lumber and building materials using company software
- Coordinate special orders, including pricing, availability, and delivery timelines
- Accurately enter orders, pricing, and customer data into internal systems
- Generate invoices, work orders, and sales tickets for proper billing and fulfillment
- Maintain organized inventory levels on the sales floor and in stock areas
- Operate and balance the cash register in accordance with company procedures
- Resolve customer issues related to returns, credits, and payments
- Partner with outside sales representatives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
- Experience in sales, customer service, or building materials preferred
- Knowledge of construction materials or willingness to learn
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Comfortable using computer systems and estimating/takeoff software
