Surge Private Equity LLC is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Private Equity Analyst to support the firm’s investment and portfolio activity. This role requires a motivated individual with strong financial skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced deal environment. The Analyst will be responsible for evaluating new investment opportunities, building and maintaining financial models, preparing investment materials, coordinating diligence workstreams, and supporting ongoing portfolio monitoring and performance reporting.
Responsibilities
- Deal sourcing and pipeline support — Identify and research acquisition targets, help manage the deal pipeline/CRM, and support outbound outreach and intermediary coverage to generate qualified opportunities
- Evaluate new investment opportunities — Screen CIMs and financials, assess fit to Surge’s investment criteria, and surface key risks/upsides quickly
- Build and maintain LBO and operating models — Create clean, auditable models with sensitivities (leverage, pricing, margins, working capital, capex) to support valuation and returns
- Prepare investment materials — Draft IC (investment committee) memos, one-pagers, and presentations that clearly communicate the thesis, diligence findings, and deal economics
- Coordinate diligence workstreams — Manage trackers, data-room requests, issue logs, and timelines across financial, tax, legal, commercial, and operational diligence partners
- Monitor and support portfolio companies — Track KPIs, covenants, liquidity, and budget-to-actual performance; support value-creation initiatives and add-on acquisition analysis. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- CPA or CFA strongly preferred
- 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, transaction services or related fields.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, exceptional excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
