We are currently seeking a Payables Associate and Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys both payables and payroll responsibilities.
Job Summary
The Payables Associate and Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, managing accounts payable records, preparing bi-weekly payroll, maintaining our general ledger, and reconciling bank deposits. This position works closely with our management and retail operations teams to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:
- Receive, review, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery receipts
- Maintain organized records of all payables transactions
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and process check runs and electronic payments
Payroll:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for retail and warehouse staff
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain accurate employee records, including deductions, PTO, and benefits
- Coordinate with Management on new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
- Generate payroll reports and assist with year-end tax filings (e.g., W-2s)
Requirements
- Experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll (retail industry experience a plus)
- Proficiency with accounting/payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP, Paychex, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail or multi-location environment
- Familiarity with inventory purchasing systems or ERP platforms
- Knowledge of sales tax and payroll tax compliance

Projected Total Compensation: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
