Patient Care Liaison

Surfpoint Recovery is a cutting edge substance-use-disorder (SUD) treatment center located in Coney Island, Brooklyn NY. We are an OASAS-licensed and CARF-certified Center of Excellence. Surfpoint Recovery offers inpatient detox, withdrawal, and stabilization services, as well as inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals with substance use disorder. The Patient Care Liaison ensures a smooth admissions experience for patients entering our facility. In addition to addressing patient concerns, the Liaison is responsible for conducting searches of patients and their property to ensure no unauthorized substances and illegal items are present upon admissions. The Patient Care Liaison position requires meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of the facility operations, workplace safety, and substance use prevention policies.

Schedule: Friday - Monday (10:00am - 8:00pm)

Responsibilities:

• Observe clients for inconsistent behavior and report to appropriate staff (Clinical, Nursing, etc) and include this information in your shift report.
• Assist in the de-escalation of behaviorally compromised patients.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of the admissions process, including any incidents or concerns that arise during client intake.
• Provides emotional support and reassurance to new clients
• Assist with client searches as needed, following facility protocols to ensure safety and compliance.
• Administer and transfer urine specimens for drug toxicology on new admissions, and as directed by the nursing and clinical staff.
• Transport patients throughout the facility.
• Ensure no contraband is brought into the waiting area or facility by conducting thorough checks and maintaining vigilance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of related work experience
