Experienced Full-Time Retail Associate

Surfing Cowboys is looking for a full-time Retail Sales Representative to join our Malibu team. If you’re drawn to vintage, design, California culture, and meaningful customer connection, this is a chance to work inside a distinctive retail environment where product knowledge, presentation, and personality all matter.

This is not cookie-cutter retail. Surfing Cowboys is an independent California retail brand and cultural curator, established in 1995, known for its distinctive mix of vintage, original apparel, accessories, home goods, and design. We are entering an exciting period of growth and evolution and are looking for someone who wants to contribute meaningfully within a small business where taste, initiative, and customer connection truly matter.

In this role, you will help customers discover product through conversation, styling, storytelling, and genuine service. You’ll help drive sales while maintaining the thoughtful, welcoming in-store experience that defines Surfing Cowboys.

What You’ll Do

• Create a warm, engaging experience for every customer
• Build authentic customer relationships and guide purchasing decisions with confidence
• Share product knowledge and the story behind what we sell
• Drive sales through thoughtful recommendations, styling, and cross-selling
• Maintain visual merchandising and strong daily store presentation
• Keep the sales floor stocked, organized, and aligned with brand standards
• Process transactions, returns, and exchanges accurately
• Support receiving, organizing, and back-of-house operations
• Assist with packing and shipping online orders
• Communicate customer feedback and store insights to the team

• Strong attention to detail in both merchandising and operations
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a dynamic retail setting
• A dependable, proactive, team-oriented attitude
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• Preferred Experience
• Retail sales experience
• Visual merchandising or styling experience
• Shopify POS or similar system experience
• Inventory, stockroom, or omnichannel retail experience

Compensation

$20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience
