The Inventory Lead is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory. They ensure all Surf’s Up policies and regulatory requirements are adhered to. The Inventory Lead is responsible for providing a memorable and positive experience for all customers. They are responsible for opening and closing the dispensary and running the sales floor for maximum efficiency. They drive sales through maintaining an up to date and stocked online and in-store menu. They work closely with the General Manager to facilitate store product ordering and deliveries. The Inventory Lead reports to the Assistant Manager and the General Manager.

  • Ensure all online menus are up to date and all current inventory is available for customers to shop from. All product information is complete and accurate online and on in-store menus.
  • Identify and communicate areas to improve stock levels to ensure product availability is maintained
  • Process deliveries in a timely manner getting product to the floor as quickly as possible upon delivery arrival
  • Maintain positive working relationships with vendors

Delivery Intake

· Receive deliveries and ensure product is received accurately in Metrc and Dutchie

· Process all deliveries upon arrival to the dispensary. Verify count is accurate and reject any packages/deliveries with discrepancies

· Create new items in Dutchie for new items

· Communicate any discrepancies to the General Manager and Assistant Manager

· Coordinate all returning manifests and required paperwork to vendors when required

Inventory Management & Compliance

  • Support the Dispensary Manager to ensure the dispensary has the proper inventory controls in place.
  • Maintain vendor and product files and folders on Sharepoint
  • Perform weekly audits of all inventory rooms and reconcile with Metrc to ensure a 100% accurate inventory
  • Organize and lead financial audit counts when requested
  • Assist in performing nightly inventory counts
  • Ensure their dispensary has the following binder system on site and all counts and documentation are complete and compliant with CCC regulations
  • Understand and follow all inventory regulations put forth by the CCC to maintain a 100% accurate inventory for all cannabis product and less than 2% shrink for non-cannabis product
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and resolve in a timely manner.

Training

  • Participate in staff meetings to continue to train and develop dispensary staff on CCC regulations, Surf’s Up policy, and processes pertaining to inventory control.
  • Work with General Manager to train staff on new inventory processes and procedures as the business needs change

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

  • Provides knowledge, expertise, guidance, and a personalized experience to each customer by explaining potential benefits of the premium cannabis products offered.
  • Ensures customer questions or concerns are resolved quickly and completely. Communicates any requests or unresolved concerns to management immediately
  • Accountable for accurately receiving, coordinating, and fulfilling customer orders by utilizing the Point of Sale (POS) and inventory tracking systems in compliance with Surf’s Up, local, and state policies.
  • Adapts to varied sales volume and stays active by initiating continued learning activities, creating an engaging environment, and assisting in keeping the dispensary properly stocked, clean, tidy and in operating order while keeping a “Customer first” mentality.
  • Meets/exceeds day to day sales metrics by following the customer experience selling cycle with tailored product suggestions. This includes meeting individual and team centric sales targets within each dispensary.

  • Must possess basic math, computer, and cash handling skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and problem solve in a professional manner.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older as required by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission.
  • Able to pass all background checks as mandated by Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers/caregivers and team members.
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma/GED

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Able to accommodate scheduling that includes varied shifts, weekends and some holidays.
  • Able to escort and assist customers with disabilities in navigating the dispensary, consultation couches, registers, entrances and exits.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information about product offerings.
  • Frequently operates computer/POS system and other standard office equipment such as printers, phones and photocopy machine.
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position when checking in customers or when operating the register.
  • The person in this position must be able to observe and assess customer entry via cameras and inspect customer’s ID’s upon entry.
  • Constantly positions self throughout sales transaction by maintaining the computer/POS, collecting product and retail bags.
  • Constantly moves and transports dispensary products/totes up to 30 lbs. throughout the dispensary.
