Prep Cook

We are seeking a responsible and detail oriented prep cook to prepare our recipe items accurately and efficiently.

Core Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute a variety of menu items by following established recipes and portioning guidelines
Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients; cooking food to food safe temperatures and maintaining a clean and organized work area
Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth, efficient service
Ensure that all menu items that leave your station meet Surf Bagel standards in terms of taste, appearance and portion size
Participate in cleaning and maintenance tasks, including equipment cleaning, dishwashing, and kitchen organization to uphold cleanliness standards and ensure a safe working environment

Job Requirements:
Read recipes accurately and quickly prepare menu items according to standards
Keep assigned area clean and walk-ins, reach-ins clutter free
Develop in-depth knowledge of food items and recipes
Label, restock, discard and maintain all food items to avoid service disruption
Adhere to essential food safety requirements
Follow basic knife skills and kitchen safety guidelines
Must be at least 18 years old
Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time

Useful qualifications:
Proven experience working as a prep cook or in a similar culinary role
Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment, including mixers, Robocoup, slicers, etc.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet service demands and maintain a smooth workflow
Strong focus on accuracy and precision to ensure consistency and quality
