About SureLock Technology

SureLock Technology is a fast-growing IT solutions provider serving K–12 education, local government, and commercial organizations across the Southeast. A multi-year Inc. 5000 honoree, SureLock delivers advanced network infrastructure, data center modernization, cybersecurity, Microsoft services, and end-user solutions.

We are builders. We solve complex problems. We move fast. And we expect our team to take ownership of their work.

Our core values guide how we serve customers and support one another. They are:

  • Proactive Ingenuity
  • Positive Team Harmony
  • Relentless Commitment
  • Trusted Reliability

Role Summary

This is not a siloed, “stay in your lane” engineering role.

The Network Engineer will operate in a dynamic, customer-centric environment where no two days look the same. You must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, wearing multiple hats, and stepping into whatever technical challenge is in front of you.

We are especially interested in candidates who:

  • Have MSP or startup IT experience and understand the pace and expectations.
  • Are ready to grow beyond a lower-tier role and prove themselves.
  • Want variety, responsibility, and upward mobility.
  • Take pride in being dependable and committed to their craft.

If you are looking to do the minimum and clock out mentally at 5 p.m., this will not be the right environment. If you want to build a reputation as a go-to engineer and grow your career, this could be a major step forward.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Implementation & Support

  • Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot switching environments across client networks.
  • Perform firewall configuration and support (policy management, security rules, VPNs).
  • Manage wireless infrastructure, including access points, controllers, and Wi-Fi optimization.
  • Support LAN/WAN environments across diverse client environments.

Virtualization & Data Center Support

  • Assist with hypervisor environments (Nutanix strongly preferred; VMware or others considered).
  • Support server infrastructure and related networking components.
  • Participate in data center modernization projects.

Client-Facing Technical Execution

  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for K–12, government, and small business clients.
  • Travel to client sites as needed for implementations, troubleshooting, and escalations.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Operational Excellence

  • Document configurations and maintain accurate technical records.
  • Contribute to process improvements as SureLock continues implementing EOS.
  • Support cross-team collaboration between Sales, Services, and Engineering.

Technical Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in an MSP or fast-paced IT services environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience with network switching.
  • Experience working with firewalls and wireless infrastructure.
  • Willingness to work onsite full-time and travel to client locations as needed.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and environments.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Cisco experience (a major plus).
  • Nutanix experience or other hypervisor platforms.
  • Exposure to multi-site K–12 or municipal network environments.
  • Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.).

What Makes This Role Compelling

  • Variety of Projects: Education, government, commercial. No two networks are alike.
  • Real Growth Opportunity: Room to rise quickly for those who perform.
  • Certification Support: We invest in your technical development.
  • Spot Bonuses: Exceptional work is recognized.
  • High-Impact Environment: You will see the direct results of your effort.
  • Career Trajectory: This is a place to make a name for yourself, not hide in the background.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You likely:

  • Thrive in fast-moving environments.
  • Enjoy solving real problems daily.
  • Take ownership instead of waiting for instructions.
  • Want to grow your career, not just hold a job.
  • Consider yourself committed and reliable.
  • If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
