Overview: As a Crane Operator I at Sure Steel, Inc., you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by operating mobile cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the crane while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Crane Operation:
   • Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads as required.
   • Interpret and follow lift plans, load charts, and hand signals from the rigging crew.
   • Demonstrate proficiency in crane operation through practical examinations.
2. Safety Compliance:
   • Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
   • Comply with all safety guidelines, including OSHA regulations and Sure Steel, Inc. policies.
   • Adhere to Sure Steel, Inc.’s Substance Abuse Policy.
3. Load Management:
   • Coordinate with the rigging crew to safely and efficiently execute lifting operations.
   • Maintain clear communication with the site supervisor and other team members regarding load management.
   • Document and report any issues related to load handling and lifting.
4. Communication and Coordination:
   • Maintain clear communication with the site supervisor and other team members.
   • Use appropriate hand signals and radio communication to coordinate crane movements.
   • Participate in team meetings and safety briefings to ensure alignment on project goals and safety protocols.
5. Equipment Maintenance:
   • Perform routine maintenance checks on the crane to ensure it is in good working condition.
   • Document and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
   • Ensure the crane is clean and well-maintained, following company protocols for equipment care.

• High School Diploma: candidates with relevant work experience in crane operation or a related field may be considered in lieu of formal education or certification.
• Completion of a certified crane operator training program preferred.
• NCCO-CCO Certified Operator with specialization in one or more of the following:
  • • Lattice Boom Cranes (LAT)
    • Telescopic Boom Cranes—Swing Cab (TLL)
    • Telescopic Boom Cranes—Fixed Cab (TSS)

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial setting.
• Experience operating different types of cranes preferred.
• Valid crane operator certification/license required.
• Strong knowledge of crane operation techniques, rigging practices, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and lifting plans.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform lifting and rigging tasks in various weather conditions.
