Key Responsibilities: PEMB (Pre Engineer Metal Building) Construction
- Material Handling and Equipment Operation:
- Operate construction equipment, such as forklifts, and telehandlers, to transport and position materials, equipment, and tools as needed.
- Assist with loading and unloading of construction materials from trucks and delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling and placement at job sites.
- Site Preparation and Cleanup:
- Prepare construction sites for work activities by clearing debris, setting up barriers, and securing work zones to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Perform general cleanup and maintenance of construction sites, including debris removal, sweeping, and disposal of waste materials.
- Assistance to Skilled Trades:
- Provide support and assistance to skilled tradespeople, such as ironworkers, and welders, by fetching tools, materials, and equipment and helping with setup and cleanup of work areas.
- Assist with basic construction tasks, such as erecting structures/steel, under the supervision of experienced workers.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks to stay informed about safety hazards and procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspection of construction equipment and tools, including greasing, lubricating, and cleaning to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns to supervisors for prompt resolution.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with other crew members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to coordinate work activities, share information, and achieve project objectives.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors and team members to receive instructions, provide updates on work progress, and address any issues or concerns.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Structural/Steel construction or related field, with demonstrated proficiency in material handling, equipment operation, and construction site work.
- Osha 10, Valid driver's license and ability to operate construction equipment, such as forklifts, skid-steer loaders, and telehandlers.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and materials, including their proper use and maintenance.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating hazards on the job site.
