Role Description The Customer Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Schaumburg, IL. This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers and carrier partners, handling inbound and outbound sales calls, and identifying opportunities to grow accounts. The representative will provide rate quotes, prepare and follow up on proposals, and coordinate with operations to ensure successful shipment scheduling and execution. Daily activities include managing a sales pipeline, updating CRM and internal systems with accurate customer information, and responding to customer inquiries regarding service options, transit times, and shipment status. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams to resolve service issues, support continuous improvement, and contribute to revenue and margin goals.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities, with a focus on clear communication and professional, solutions-oriented support.
- Sales and negotiation skills, including experience managing leads, closing opportunities, and meeting or exceeding performance targets.
- Familiarity with logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage operations, such as understanding LTL, truckload, and expedited services (preferred but not required).
- Comfort with technology, including CRM platforms, email and office productivity tools, and basic data entry and reporting.
- Ability to work on-site in Royal Oak, MI, manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field is an advantage.
- Prior experience in inside sales, account management, or customer support is helpful, particularly in logistics or related industries.
