Package Delivery Driver

Looking for a job where you're out on the road instead of sitting behind a desk? SureShip is looking for dependable drivers to join our local package delivery team in Cambridge, Ohio.

You'll be assigned a local route and spend your day delivering and picking up packages for residential and business customers. We provide the vehicle, fuel, training, and equipment you need to do the job.

This position is a good fit for someone who is dependable, comfortable working independently, and doesn't mind a physically active workday.

The Day-to-Day

Your typical day may include:

• Starting your shift by inspecting and loading your assigned vehicle
• Following a designated local delivery route
• Delivering packages to homes and businesses
• Picking up packages from customers and businesses
• Using a handheld device to scan and record deliveries
• Safely operating a company step van or cargo van
• Communicating professionally with customers
• Keeping your vehicle and work area clean
• Completing required vehicle inspections
• Finishing your assigned route safely and accurately

Packages can weigh up to 150 lbs, with assistance such as a hand truck or team lift when needed.

What You Need to Qualify

Applicants must meet the requirements established for FedEx Ground delivery drivers.

You must:

• Be 21 years of age or older
• Have a valid driver's license
• Have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
• Have no DUI/DWI within the previous 5 years
• Have no serious or reckless-driving violations
• Successfully complete a DOT physical and obtain a medical card
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
• Successfully complete a criminal background check
• Successfully complete the required driver qualification process
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Be capable of safely handling packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate assistance
• Be comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Be available for weekends and peak-season scheduling when required

CDL experience is not required for this position.

This Job Is Active

This isn't a sit-down driving position. Drivers regularly:

• Walk throughout their routes
• Lift and move packages
• Bend and reach
• Climb in and out of the delivery vehicle
• Work outside
• Work at a steady, time-sensitive pace

You'll need to be comfortable working in rain, snow, heat, cold, and other outdoor conditions.
