Surdyk's is looking for a friendly, food-loving, customer-focused team member to join our small but mighty team part-time. This is a hands-on position working across all areas of the shop, helping create an exceptional experience for our guests while learning about specialty food and beverage.
We're looking for an outgoing food & beverage professional who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, enjoys working with people, and has a genuine passion for food, wine, and hospitality.
Responsibilities
Team members work in all areas of the shop, including:
- Cheese & Charcuterie counter service
- Deli & Prepared Foods service
- Espresso drink preparation
- Cashiering & Customer Service
- Stocking & Merchandising
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the shop
Qualifications
- Previous experience in specialty food, cheese, deli, coffee, restaurant, or other relevant food & beverage experience is a requirement for this position. We will train you how to work each part of the shop, but we expect you to bring expertise and natural hospitality instincts to the table.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy retail setting.
- Enthusiasm for learning about cheese, wine, specialty foods, and hospitality.
- Weekend and evening availability required.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to reliably commute to and from work.
Schedule and Compensation
- Part-time, up to 30 hours per week.
- Evening and weekend shifts required.
- Starting wage: $16.37 per hour share of employee tip pool.
- Average tips add between $8-12 per hour.
