Location: Eastern Cape – Msikaba River Bridge site REPORTS TO: Resident Engineer and Chief Resident Engineer PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE We are currently seeking a Senior Assistant Resident Engineer and/or Resident Engineer (Construction Programmer) to participate in the construction supervision of one of the largest bridges in South African history. The role will primarily involve extensive and detailed construction programme monitoring, reporting and support to the Resident Engineer in contract administration for our project at the Msikaba River Bridge site. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Main duties may include, but not limited to, some of the following: Detailed programme monitoring of the construction programming (CCS Candy), Managing technical and/or contractual aspects on site. Managing resources for site supervision. Application of the Firm’s Quality Management System. Monitoring of programme and progress of production processes and any off-site and/or remote construction and/or assembly facilities. Quantities and payment certificates. Preparation of variation orders. Closing out project including compiling completion/close-out reports. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Proficient in operating CCS programming software enabling detailed construction programme monitoring and subsequent reporting to stakeholders. Adherence delivery timelines. Proficient in analysing impact of claims on contractual programme. Participation in monthly site and technical meetings. Proactive management of contractual and technical challenges experienced on site. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Extensive, proven experience in construction planning and programming software, specifically CCS Candy (non-negotiable). BSc Engineering / B. Engineering Degree or appropriate qualification or certification for operating programming software (preferably CCS Candy). 6 to 15 years construction and/or construction supervision experience, of which a minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing the construction programme of major infrastructure projects.
