What are the responsibilities and job description for the SSDC Bonded Material Clerk position at Sur-seal Llc?
Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM, M - F
Summary:
The Bonded Warehouse Clerk is responsible for following the daily operations and activities of a “Class 2” customs bonded warehouse. Among others, this includes: receiving, storing and shipping of bonded goods; managing bonded inventory; and ensuring compliance with all relevant US Customs and Border (CBP) regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain and follow warehouse policies and procedures.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records/reports of inventory and bonded warehouse transactions
- Work with other departments to ensure the smooth flow of goods into, through and out of the bonded warehouse.
- Do physical cycle counts
- Support the preparation, quality review and filing of requisite Customs Forms such as 7501, 7512 and 3499.
- Monitor customs brokerage expenses incurred against the warehouse budget and communicate variances to relevant stakeholders as necessary.
- Interact and collaborate with CBP officials and external service providers to address inquiries and support on-going compliance.
- Participate in the conduct of periodic compliance assessments and audits.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices and existing/new regulations.
- Unload trucks into the lanes using material handling equipment
- Review purchase orders against packing list and supplier package labels to ensure that proper material and quantities have been delivered.
Qualifications
Required:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Familiarity with a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems such as Epicor.
Preferred:
- 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably including customs bonded transportation/warehouse regulations.
- Supply chain, logistics or a related field.
