Material Handler

Hours: 8am – 4:45pm, Harrison Distribution Center

Job Summary: The SSDC Material Handler is responsible for making sure customer shipments are prepared and delivered on time. This position manages accurate inventory and is the last key person to ensure quality product is shipped.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pull correct quantities per order
• Ensure rotation of inventory follows the first in/first out process
• Recordkeeping and tracking of all inventory pulled via computer system
• Ensure appropriate storage of all finished goods
• Ability to lift 50lbs on a repetitive basis
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (e.g. forklift)
• Ability to work on an elevated platform or ladder
• Ability to walk and stand for 80% of the work day
• Ability to work with scanners and computers
• Minor clerical duties and computer input
• Other duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Area Leader

Education and Experience:

• Experience in Shipping/Warehousing a plus
• Experience in Manufacturing environment a plus
• Computer skills are required
• Must have excellent verbal and written communications skill set

Knowledge/Skills:

• Self-driven personality who can work well in a team atmosphere. Must be flexible and willing to learn all areas of the shipping warehouse function. Jobs rotate frequently to cover team absences.
• Ability to problem solve and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
• Ability to interact well with others and have flexible working hours ( /- 2 Hours)
• Ability to work in a humid/hot environment
• Willingness to take direction from the shipping team leader and work in a fast- paced department
• This position is required to take the Material Control math assessment
