Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Toast POS, ensuring clarity and efficiency
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining presentation standards and food safety protocols
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Manage table turnover efficiently by bussing and resetting tables in a timely manner
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining accountability
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth food preparation and timely delivery of orders
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Use reservation management tools like Toast tables to coordinate guest seating and reservations effectively
- Provide exceptional guest services by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and fostering positive guest relations
- Assist with event setups service as needed, contributing to a lively atmosphere
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, ideally with fine dining
- Proficiency with POS systems & familiarity with POS
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and handle diverse guest needs
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining genuine guest engagement
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and order accuracy
- Previous experience in serving, bussing, host/hostess roles or hospitality settings is advantageous
- Knowledge of the food industry standards related to food preparation, kitchen operations, and guest relations
