EHS Technician

Shift- Swing 11AM to 8PM

Pay:$25 per hour (WEEKLY PAY!)

Position Type: Temp to Hire

Role Overview
The EHS Technician functions as an advanced individual contributor within the environmental, health, and safety function. The role emphasizes independent judgment, ownership of high‑risk or enterprise‑level EHS activities, cross‑functional influence, and leadership in EHS best practices rather than routine inspections or transactional support.

Key Responsibilities

EHS Program Management

  • Manage complex and high-risk EHS programs and activities.
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of EHS management systems.
  • Ensure EHS practices align with regulatory requirements, company policies, and operational goals.

Risk Assessment & Hazard Mitigation

  • Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and exposure evaluations.
  • Recommend and implement effective controls to reduce workplace safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Evaluate EHS risks associated with new equipment, processes, and operational changes.

Incident Investigation & Corrective Action

  • Lead investigations involving serious incidents, near misses, and non-routine EHS events.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.

Regulatory Compliance & Audits

  • Serve as an EHS resource during internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready EHS documentation, permits, and records.
  • Support regulatory agency interactions and resolution of findings or citations.

Environmental & Industrial Hygiene

  • Support environmental compliance activities, including waste handling, emissions, and spill prevention.
  • Perform or coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring and employee exposure assessments.
  • Recommend appropriate controls to protect employees and the environment.

Training & Safety Awareness

  • Support the development and delivery of EHS training and safety awareness programs.
  • Provide guidance on safe-work practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and reinforce EHS expectations throughout operations and projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, HR, and other teams.
  • Provide EHS guidance for projects, equipment changes, and process improvements.
  • Clearly communicate risks, requirements, and recommendations to employees and leadership.

Continuous Improvement & Mentorship

  • Identify opportunities to improve EHS processes, tools, procedures, and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to EHS standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to other EHS Technicians.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of EHS, safety, environmental, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, environmental compliance, hazard identification, incident investigation, and risk assessment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
