Job Title: Route Jumper/Back Up Driver

Job Purpose: To assist and learn the Route Service Representatives/Drivers routes and customer base.  This may include our Healthcare, Food and Beverage, or Dust Control divisions.   

Job Responsibilities: 

• Learn and Assist Route Service Representatives on their daily routes
• Fill in on trucks when regular RSR/Driver is on vacation
• Perform daily inspection of truck before beginning of route
• Customer Service – manage customer service situations and respond promptly to customer needs.  This may include management of customer’s inventory levels and adding in new products
• Safety and Security – Observe safety and security procedures and in our facilities.  Follow all traffic laws; along with Department of Transportation regulations
• Verify load sheets for accuracy before starting the Route
• Maintain proper appearance; must be in uniform at all times
• Collect money from COD customers

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s license
• Ability to effectively communicate information and situations to customers, managers, and other employees of the organization
• Employee is frequently required to lift up to and over 50 pounds and move bins and carts up to 850 pounds
• Ability to speak both Spanish and English is preferred
• Experience of driving box trucks and/or step vans is preferred 
• Must be 21 years of age or older
