What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Trainer (Head Trainer) position at Supreme K9?
Supreme K9 Training is seeking a Head Dog Trainer with professional dog training experience. Candidates must have prior experience working directly with all types of dogs (puppies, reactive, aggressive, etc) and interacting with dog owners in a private setting, as well as experience teaching group classes.
Responsibilities:
- Training dogs (individually and as a group)
- Educate and work with dog owners in hands-on 1-on-1 Private Lessons as well as Group Classes
- Teach and coach Jr. Trainers
- Assist with occasional company events
- Provide client education and promotion of merchandise, fundraisers, and other services
- Keep legible and up to date training records for each individual client
- Office tasks such as answering/returning phone calls and emails
Qualifications/Characteristics:
- Four years of professional dog training experience
- Balanced dog training philosophy - Non Negotiable
- Experience with the use of prong collars, slip leads, dominant collars & electronic collars
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to multitask - train multiple dogs at once and walk multiple dogs at once
- Follow instructions, receptive to constructive criticism, ability to implement change quickly
- Punctuality - Ready to work at the start of shift
- Patience
- Self-starter
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to be on feet for a full day
- Flexible with working days & hours
- Fluent in Spanish a plus but not required
Hours:
- Be available - 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturday AND Sunday.
- Total days working per week will be 5 days - 3 weekdays & weekends
