Job Duties
Job Summary - The deputy clerk is assigned operational responsibilities and ensures court's instructions are executed and legal papers are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures.
This is a wage position with no benefits. Approximately hours per week; flexible schedule; $12.77 per hour.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Under general supervision of the Clerk of Court or designee, performs a wide variety of clerical, courtroom and administrative support duties for the Court by following established policies and procedures based upon Virginia statues, rules and local ordinances.
Duties include but are not limited to filing, data entry, receipting payments, answering phones, processing mail and delivering paperwork to other offices in the building.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; business courses preferred. Requires knowledge and skills of general office operations and procedures (i.e. typing, filing, data entry, and receipting payments). This is a team-oriented effort; therefore, applicant must be willing to perform their assigned duties and those of others if necessary.
Additional Considerations
Verbal and written communications skills; automated records and word processing experience is a plus.
