What You'll Do
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community setting.
Your responsibilities may include:
Consumer transportation to include but not limited to medical appointments, financial and benefit appointments, housing appointments, community and outcome directed activities, school / day programming, and religious services
Perform all daily activities within any home setting and / or community setting
Assist/mentor consumers with activities of daily living / perform activities of daily living
Perform medication administration
Assist with ISP development and outcomes
Accurate completion of required paperwork to include but not limited to timecards, progress notes, schedules, assessment forms, medical appointment forms, daily logs, medication logs, vehicle logs and expense forms
Be available for shifts twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days per week as scheduled
Assist with on call activities and emergency situations as requested by the Program Coordinator
Responsible for the safety and well-being of all the individuals residing in the home
Work with the Program Coordinator to ensure that all needs of the individuals are met according to their ISP
Assist the Program Coordinator with special projects as related to the Agency

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Current driver’s license and functional vehicle for driving from site to site that is clean and free of clutter
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide hands-on support and physical assistance when needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Six (6) months to one (1) year experience in human service related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of and ability to work with developmentally disabled persons (preferred)
