JOB SUMMARY:

As a Lawn Care Technician, you collaborate with our dedicated staff to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities. Your primary objectives include providing lawn care services for our residential homes and company facilities, as well as acting as a job coach for a select group of individuals with disabilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Lawn Care: Ensure the upkeep of lawns, gardens, and outdoor spaces across our properties.
2. Grounds Maintenance: Perform tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, and weed eating.
3. Equipment Training: Train individuals on the proper operation of equipment.
4. Safety Practices: Follow safety protocols to protect people and the environment.
5. Small Engine Maintenance: Handle basic repairs and maintenance for small engines and equipment.
6. Oil Changes: Periodic oil changes on company vehicles.
7. Supervision: Provide guidance and support to a small caseload of individuals with disabilities who actively participate in job duties.
8. Individual Well-Being: Monitor the comfort and safety of individuals served, ensuring their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met.
9. Personal Outcomes: Support individuals in achieving their personal goals.
10. Positive Interaction: Interact with individuals in an empathetic and respectful manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:  

1. Experience: Prior experience in lawn care or related fields is preferred.
2. Basic Lawn Care Knowledge: Familiarity with lawn care techniques and equipment.
3. Skill:  Must be able to pull a trailer.
4. Supervisory Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a individuals on your team.
5. Empathy and Patience: Compassion for individuals with disabilities and a patient approach.
6. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for spotting lawn care and equipment needs and addressing them promptly.
7. Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and individuals we serve.
8. Knowledge: Company policies and procedures.
9. Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.
10. Ability to stoop, kneel and lift to complete assigned tasks.
11. Ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner. 
12. Ability to read documents and written instructions.
13. Ability to perform heavy, physical labor.
14. Ability to work independently.
15. Ability to drive.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Prior experience in lawn care and maintenance
3. Must have a valid driver’s license
4. Must be 21 years of age or older
