What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Signer/ Prescriber position at Support Source of North Carolina?
- Review completed documentation of the Person Center Plan, Crisis Plan, and Comprehensive Clinical Assessment to assure that the services being recommended are relevant to the paperwork completed
- Sign off on the Plan signature page to submit for authorization of recommended services at $40 a signature!
- Clients available for the medical signing staff to accept for Outpatient Therapy, or as a client for their Primary Care Physician for the clients that do not have a Primary Care doctor already.
- Anticipating 20 - 50 clients to sign for per week or every other week.
- Prescriber signature needed in order to verify medical necessity for the services that are recommended.
Types of Prescribers
- Psychiatrists: Medical doctors (MD) with specialized training in psychiatry. Preferably a Psychiatrist.
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP): Registered nurses with advanced practice training in mental health.
- Physician Assistants (PA): Healthcare professionals who can diagnose and prescribe under medical supervision.
