Licensed Mental Health Therapist/LPC/MHSP/LMHT

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHT) provides mental health services to individuals who are supported by Support Solutions. Therapists are responsible for diagnosing and treating emotional or behavioral disorders which negatively impact a supported person’s mental health.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The LMHT is expected to assess, diagnose and treat mental health and behavioral concerns for individuals who are dually diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disorders (IDD) and Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI).
• Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Accurately assess and diagnose mental health disorders in compliance with the DSM-5-TR (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).
• Review and incorporate the expectations from the Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP) in development of the mental health treatment planning.
• Help supported persons to respond constructively to treatment and to assist in adjustment leading to discharge.
• Train staff, family or other relevant supports on techniques to effectively care for the supported person.  The LMHT will serve as the link between interested parties.
• The LMHT is expected to utilize research-based counseling approaches that are appropriate for the population served. 
• LMHT may provide services in intensive outpatient services (IOP) or individual modalities.

• OTHER FUNTIONS:

• The LMHT is expected to exhibit behaviors and best practices as consistent with the vision and values of SSMS.
• Practice safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety hazards and to maintain a safe work environment.
• Attend all required safety and performance training courses.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.

MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employe must also provide any medical records required to comply with regulations in force through any governing entity related to business operations and to meet policy and procedure requires of SSMS.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. She/he is expected to be on-call outside of normal office hours for necessary and urgent company matters.

Body Positioning: The employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time. She/he may also be required to sit for short or long periods of time while completing other duties and responsibilities. There is also a requirement to be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch and to reach with the hands and arms. She/he must be able to drive/travel for short periods of time to attend meetings, trainings, or perform site visits or for longer trips that will require overnight stays to attend meetings and training workshops.

Body Movements: The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of his/her hands to handle computers and other office equipment. The ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed are also required.

Body Senses: The employee must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, and depth perception. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from reading dossiers and operating office equipment. There is also a requirement to talk and listen for prolonged periods both on the telephone and face to face.

Strength: The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Candidate must have received a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Community Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited educational program.

Candidate must have an unrestricted license to provide independent mental health services in the state of Tennessee.

Salary : $70,000
