Support Services of Virginia is actively seeking Sponsored Residential Providers across Central Virginia for long-term placements supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in a home environment.
Sponsored Residential Providers help individuals build independence, participate in their communities, and enjoy a safe, supportive household setting. Providers may support one or two adults within their home.
Who We Partner With
Support Services of Virginia may contract with:
• Individuals
• Couples or domestic partners
• Family households
Homes with children younger than 12 years old are generally not preferred.
Basic Requirements
Providers must:
• Be at least 21 years old
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Maintain involvement within the community
• Possess six months or more of experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, preferably adults
• Be comfortable navigating electronic systems and online communication
• Have effective written communication skills
Applicants lacking required experience may have opportunities to work as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to gain qualifying experience.
Relatives of eligible individuals may become providers; however, additional guidelines apply.
About the Opportunity
Sponsored Residential Providers are independent subcontractors working in partnership with SSVA rather than employees.
Providers support the person’s day-to-day needs while encouraging personal growth, community engagement, and independence. SSVA works closely to identify compatible matches between individuals and provider homes.
Additional Information
• Providers receive payments every two weeks
• Certification may take as long as three months
• Required trainings are offered at no cost
• Homes must meet applicable licensing standards
• Applicants must share information regarding their home and lifestyle
• Providers must comply with all licensing and program policies
• Providers should support individuals with diverse personalities and support needs
Salary : $48,000 - $124,000
