- Plan and prepare meals and snacks according to the client’s specific, prescribed dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all food is handled, stored, and cooked safely to prevent cross-contamination and maintain nutritional integrity.
- Perform grocery shopping for the client, carefully selecting items that comply with his dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen environment.
- Accommodate the client’s preferences within the constraints of his dietary plan.
- Track meals prepared and communicate any issues or supply needs to the client’s support team.
Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check through the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). This is a mandatory requirement for employment.
- Previous experience in food preparation, preferably in a setting with dietary restrictions (e.g., healthcare, personal chef, allergy-aware cooking).
- Knowledge of and commitment to strict food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification a plus, but not required).
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes with precision.
- Reliable transportation for grocery shopping and commuting to the client's home.
- Compassion, patience, and a respectful understanding of working with an individual with a disability.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Logistics:
- Pay: $14.25 - $14.50 per hour, based on experience.
- Schedule: Approximately 6-12 hours per week. Specific days and times are flexible and will be mutually agreed upon.
- This is a part-time, at-will position.
