We’re hiring an Energetics Process Engineer at our Prairie Forge production facility in Parsons, KS to manage industrial process and equipment for our overall physical operations. The role is responsible for the full lifecycle of industrial processes and equipment, from design, research, and development to operational optimization for efficiency and quality. A key component of the job is ensuring environmental and workplace safety compliance, while also leading and mentoring a small team in production and lab operations, fostering a culture of defense-grade safety and craftsmanship. We’re open to relocation for strong candidates.

What You’ll Do
- Process Design: Create and improve industrial processes and equipment for large-scale production.
- Research & Development: Conduct research, test new chemistries, and develop new products or improved methods.
- Optimization: Analyze data to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, minimize waste, and improve product quality.
- Safety & Compliance: Establish safety protocols, evaluate processes for environmental regulations, and ensure workplace safety. Monitor equipment for proper operation and maintenance.
- Manage and develop a small team across lab and production ops; schedule, train, and coach.
- Champion a safety-first, craftsmanship-driven culture aligned to defense-grade rigor.
Must Have
- U.S. citizenship with compliance to REAL ID and defense-related requirements
- BS or Masters in chemical engineering, plus 8 years industry experience
- Familarity with quality control, testing, regulatory, and manufacturing environments
- Strong foundation in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Math.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal/written) and teamwork.
- Proficiency with IT, simulation software, and CAD.
- Commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Prior DCMA or DoD experience.
- Experience in explosives/energetics operations, magazines, and inventory controls.
- Team leadership (5–15 ) and cross-functional project management.

Salary : $145,000 - $170,000
