Position Overview
The ideal candidate will manage a varied caseload independently and in collaboration with the firm owner, meet directly with clients, draft legal documents, and represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counsel clients with clarity, patience, and empathy across Family Law, Consumer Bankruptcy (Chapter 7/13), Estate Planning, and Probate.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, estate plans, and bankruptcy filings.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and client conferences across east-central Nebraska.
- Manage client relationships directly, translating complex legal concepts into clear action plans.
- Collaborate with the firm owner while developing the autonomy to manage cases independently.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Nebraska (or pending bar admission).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-first mindset.
- High emotional intelligence and an ability to remain calm and supportive during high-stress client situations.
- Comfort working in a rural, small-town legal environment where personal connections matter.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $85,000.00 – $105,000.00 / year (commensurate with experience).
