We are seeking a motivated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic swim professional to join our team in a multifaceted role combining Superior Stars team leadership, Adult Private swim instruction, and daytime youth swim lessons.

Position Overview

This position is ideal for an experienced swim instructor and coach who enjoys working with swimmers of all ages and abilities. The successful candidate will lead our Superior Stars program, provide individualized instruction to adult swimmers, and teach youth swim lessons during daytime hours.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates effectively, builds positive relationships with swimmers and families, and is passionate about helping others achieve their goals in the water.

Key Responsibilities

Head Superior Stars Coach

• Lead and oversee the Superior Stars program, our developmental, non-competitive program designed to prepare swimmers for competitive swimming.
• Plan and implement structured practices focused on stroke technique, endurance, efficiency, and foundational competitive swimming skills.
• Create a positive, encouraging team environment that promotes confidence, accountability, and athlete development.
• Manage Superior Stars staff schedules for practices and program events
• Evaluate swimmer progress and provide individualized feedback to support continued improvement.
• Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and facility management regarding expectations, and program updates.
• Help maintain program standards, organization, and a consistent, high-quality experience for participants.
• Grow and maintain number of program participants
• Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship for programs assistant staff 

Adult Private Lesson Instructor

• Teach private swim lessons to adult swimmers of varying experience levels, from beginners learning basic water skills to advanced swimmers refining technique.
• Develop individualized lesson plans based on each swimmer’s goals, comfort level, and abilities.
• Provide instruction in water safety, confidence-building, stroke development, and technique refinement.
• Create a professional, supportive, and comfortable learning environment for adult participants.
• Maintain clear communication with clients and follow facility scheduling and cancellation policies.

Daytime Youth Swim Lesson Instructor

• Teach daytime youth swim lessons to children with a variety of swimming abilities and experience levels.
• Deliver engaging, structured lessons focused on water safety, confidence, and proper swimming technique through Superior Training’s outlined curriculum.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs while maintaining appropriate class structure and safety standards.
• Build positive relationships with students and families while fostering a welcoming learning environment.
• Maintain consistent instructional quality and follow all facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching swim lessons and/or coaching swimmers.
• Strong understanding of swimming fundamentals, stroke mechanics, and water safety.
• Ability to work effectively with children, adults, and swimmers of varying ages and abilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, professional, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• A passion for teaching, coaching, and helping swimmers build confidence and achieve their goals.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and lifeguarding certifications, or willingness to obtain required certifications, as applicable.
• Competitive swimming or team coaching experience is strongly preferred for the Head Superior Stars Coach responsibilities.

Schedule & Work Environment

This is a multi-responsibility position with a combination of daytime instructional hours and scheduled Superior Stars practices. The schedule will be coordinated based on program needs and the candidate’s availability.
