We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to manage procurement activities and supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials at competitive prices. This role plays a critical part in our supply chain operations and will work closely with internal teams to forecast needs, place orders, and maintain inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate suppliers for quality, price, reliability, and delivery performance
- Negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, and contracts with vendors
- Issue purchase orders and manage order confirmations, lead times, and delivery schedules
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking in line with production or sales demands
- Track shipments and resolve any delivery issues or delays
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier databases
- Collaborate with operations, accounting, and warehouse teams to align procurement with organizational needs
- Ensure compliance and accuracy between Purchase orders and Confirmations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- [Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field]
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in [industry-specific purchasing, e.g., manufacturing, foodservice, packaging]
- Familiarity with import/export or domestic logistics
- Knowledge of cost reduction strategies and vendor management best practices
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 AM-4:30 PM with some flexibility
Compensation: Starting at $22/hour - $27/hour, with room for advancement
