Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Pipefitter with Commissioning experience for an immediate start in Austin, TX!
This is a night shift position.
WEEKLY PAY --- LONG TERM --- PER DIEM
- PAY: $38.00/hour (based upon experience)
- PER DIEM: $90/day for days worked
- HOURS: Shifts will be 10-hour workdays, 6 days per week (60 hours/week)
- SCHEDULE: NIGHT SHIFT -- Workdays will be Monday-Saturday; 6:00pm – 4:30am
- START DATE: ASAP
- DURATION: 6 months
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Pipefitter with a strong background in industrial piping systems and boiler work. This role is ideal for a dependable, safety-focused professional with at least 4 years of experience who can read and interpret technical diagrams, support commissioning activities, and execute piping installations in the field. This position offers a clear path toward leadership, with opportunities to grow into a Lead or Superintendent role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, and modify piping systems for commercial and industrial projects
- Support commissioning activities, including system startup, testing, and troubleshooting
- Connect and manage hoses for system flushing, pressure testing, and temporary setups
- Perform restoration work, including repairs, replacements, and system tie-ins
- Read and interpret ISOs (isometric drawings), P&IDs, and other technical schematics
- Plan and execute work based on project specifications and field conditions
- Work on and around boiler systems, ensuring proper installation and function
- Coordinate with other trades, engineers, and project teams to ensure project success
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety standards, procedures, and site-specific requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a pipefitter in commercial or industrial settings
- Must have OSHA 10 Construction (or be willing to get)
- Strong experience with commissioning processes and system startup support
- Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, and schematics
- Experience working with hoses, including connections and system integration
- Solid understanding of boiler systems and piping installation
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in industrial or power plant environments
- Leadership potential with interest in advancing to Lead or Superintendent roles
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Experience with hydro testing, flushing, and system turnover
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must have reliable transportation to the job site
