General Laborer Job Description
We are looking for dependable and hardworking General Laborers to support an active commercial construction site. This position will assist skilled trades and site personnel with general labor, construction cleanup, material handling, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform general construction site cleanup throughout the workday.
Sweep, shovel, and remove dirt, dust, debris, and construction materials.
Collect and dispose of trash and debris in designated areas.
Move, load, unload, and organize construction materials around the job site.
Assist with delivering materials and tools to different areas of the project.
Help stage and organize materials for skilled trades and crews.
Carry and relocate materials, equipment, and supplies as directed.
Assist with keeping work areas, walkways, and access points clean and free of hazards.
Help with basic demolition, tear-out, and removal of materials as needed.
Assist tradesmen with general labor tasks and job-site support.
Use basic hand tools and power tools as required.
Follow directions from foremen, supervisors, and site management.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
Perform other general construction labor duties as assigned.
Qualifications for General Laborer
Must have a valid OSHA-10 certification.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions.
Previous construction or general labor experience is preferred.
Must be comfortable working outdoors and in an active construction environment.
Must be able to safely use basic hand and power tools as required.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, twist, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Must be willing to perform repetitive cleanup and material-handling duties.
Position requires the use of PPE, including steel-toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves.
Additional Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
Must follow all site safety rules and supervisor instructions.
Must maintain a professional attitude and work effectively with the construction crew.
Must be willing to perform physically demanding general labor duties as needed.
