SCOPE:The CNC Machinist willbe responsible forproductionof machinedcomponentsonvarious machining centers. The role demandsa high levelofexpertisein operatingturning,vertical and horizontal machining centers as well asmulti-spindlelathes. The ideal candidate willbe responsible for:
Programming and Setup:
Develop,modify, andoptimizeCNC programs forvarious typesof machinery.
Setup machines for production runs, ensuring maximum efficiency and precision.
Operation Excellence:
Operateturning,vertical and horizontal machining centers, and Swiss-style lathes, adhering to all safety and quality standards.
Monitor machinery during operation to detect any signs of malfunction or deviation from expected performance.
Quality Control:
Perform regular quality checks on components produced to ensure they meet or exceed specifications.
Adjust machine settings or programming as necessary to correct any issues.
Team Leadership and Training:
Lead, train, and mentor less experienced machinists and operators.
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages skill enhancement and productivity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
A minimum of4years' experience(Journeyman level) with CNC multi-axis Swiss turning machines; Star experience a plus
Effectively program, set up andoperatevertical and horizontal machining centers (3-4 axes)
Effectivelydeterminetooling, set up, program, andoperateSwissStyle/Star lathes unassisted andunsupervised.
Capable of usingtheappropriate measuringtools and equipment
Capable of choosing theappropriate cuttingtools
Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and work instructions.
Ability and willingness to train other operators.
Experience with Fanuc Controls
Fluent in G&M code
Bonus
Gibbs Cam programming
CAD experience (Solidworks, AutoCAD)
PLC Knowledge
Exposureto orworkingexperience in continuous improvement or leanmethodologies.
EDUCATION& OTHERREQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school a plus
Technical College a plus
Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours per shift
Ability tolift upto 40pounds on a regular basis
