Role Description The Heavy Duty Truck Prepper is a full-time, on-site role based in Charleston County, SC. This role is responsible for preparing heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles for painting and refinishing, including washing, masking, sanding, grinding, and surface cleaning. The Heavy Duty Truck Prepper will remove and reinstall basic trim and hardware as needed, inspect surfaces for imperfections, and assist in minor bodywork preparation under the direction of technicians or painters. Daily tasks include maintaining a clean and organized work area, following safety and environmental procedures, and handling materials and tools in accordance with shop standards. The role also involves collaborating with painters, estimators, and other team members to ensure vehicles are ready for on-time, high-quality completion.

Qualifications
- Experience in vehicle or equipment prep work, including washing, sanding, masking, and surface cleaning for paint.
- Familiarity with body shop tools and equipment (e.g., sanders, grinders, DA sanders, hand tools) and willingness to learn proper use and care.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work from repair orders, and coordinate with painters and technicians.
- Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and commitment to safety and cleanliness in the work area.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment and parts, stand for extended periods, and work in and around large vehicles.
- Previous experience in a body shop, truck shop, or industrial paint environment is preferred but not required.
- Reliable transportation, consistent attendance, and willingness to work a full-time schedule.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; relevant vocational or technical training is a plus.
