Superior Metals Manufacturing is a manufacturer of super alloys for the metal casting industry including investment castings for the Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine sectors. We are currently seeking a dedicated hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our weekend night shift operations. Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Supervisor will oversee night shift weekend operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met. This role supports and leads team members, maintains standard work processes, and drives performance against daily goals and objectives.
Location: Chittenango, NY
Schedule: Night Shift – Weekends (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday)
Salary: Starts at $75k , but will be evaluated depending on candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality & Training
- Enforce quality standards and ensure compliance with processes and policies
- Support process improvements to ensure a consistent, high-quality product
- Ensure standardized work is in place and followed
- Oversee team member training, including Job Instruction (JI) and cross-training plans
Productivity & Operations
- Ensure production targets and ship schedules are met
- Monitor and document daily performance against targets (Daily P&L)
- Manage staffing levels and support productivity through team engagement
- Lead shift handoffs and follow Leader Standard Work
- Foster a continuous improvement culture
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead production team in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Coach and mentor team members and Team Leaders
- Address and resolve issues, implementing corrective actions as needed
- Ensure accountability and drive results within the team
Safety
- Promote a culture of safety and adherence to all safety protocols
- Complete accident investigations and lead implementation of safety improvements
- Model safe work behaviors and enforce 6S practices
- Conduct root cause analysis for safety incidents and implement countermeasures
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience: Minimum 4–5 years in manufacturing, with leadership or supervisory experience needed
Skills Required:
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
- Basic math and reasoning skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with manufacturing software preferred
- Ability to analyze and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Moderate noise; 80% plant floor / 20% office
- Physical Demands: Standing/walking for up to 8 hours; lifting up to 75 lbs
- Location Requirement: Must be able to work onsite at the Chittenango, NY facility
- Availability: Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts on weekends (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday) and overtime as required
