Job Summary
The Activity Aide is responsible for assisting in the planning, organization, and implementation of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents/patients in a [nursing home, assisted living facility, rehabilitation center, etc.]. This role promotes social interaction, physical activity, and emotional well-being among participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of daily and special activities.
- Facilitate group and individual activities, ensuring participation and engagement.
- Support residents/patients in attending activities, providing necessary assistance and encouragement.
- Set up and clean up activity areas and materials before and after events.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Monitor and document residents’ participation and feedback.
- Collaborate with staff to assess residents’ needs and preferences for activities.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to activity planning.
- Assist with transportation of residents/patients to and from activity areas as needed.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in recreation, therapy, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience in a healthcare or recreational setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in helping others.
- Physical ability to assist residents/patients as needed.
