What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Worker position at Superior Linen Service?
Superior Linen is a family owned and operated linen and uniform supply company, celebrating its 96th year in business! We are looking for hardworking and motivated employees to fill positions in our production team. The ideal candidates will have a positive attitude, work well in a team environment, and be committed to working when scheduled. The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Feeding napkins, table cloths, and other items into ironers.
- Working with iron team in unison to have items ironed in a timely manner.
- Wrapping stacks of linen to be put up for orders.
- Sorting linen by color and size to be organized into inventory.
- Occasionally filling linen orders for routes and sorting them to go out for delivery.
- Folding towels, sheets, blankets, and other textile items.
- Sorting and organizing blankets, sheets, towels, and like items by category, and assisting with preparing them for delivery.
- Working with folding machines, baggers, and ironers.
- Pushing/pulling bins or linen, blankets, towels, sheets, etc.
- Practicing work place safety guidelines and following company policies.
- Washing and drying returned product.
- Occasionally assisting other production departments with their tasks, such as sorting linen to go into production, or assisting with the washing/drying of items.
Physical work for these positions includes, but is not limited to, standing for several hours at a time, walking from department to department, pushing bins, feeding textile items into machines, and occasional lifting of linen bags and similar items.
The schedule for this job is typically 4am - 12:30pm. There is also currently a high possibility for overtime work, as we are coming up on our busy season.
This is a full-time position, and a Union job. Those hired will become members of the UFCW Local 21. Full benefits package is available upon completion of required hours worked. Drug screening and background check mandatory.
