We need a lead who can run safe, organized design/build jobsites, deliver consistent install quality, coordinate logistics, and communicate clearly to protect hours and the customer experience
Requirements
- Strong install background (hardscape and softscape), equipment competence
- Leadership and problem-solving under pressure
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
What “good” looks like (expectations and standards)
- Job sites feel organized and professional, not improvised
- Materials show up when needed, minimal waiting time
- Install quality is consistent: clean lines, correct base prep, proper compaction, correct elevations
- Issues are caught early (layout, grade, drainage) and communicated with solutions, not surprises
- Customer feels taken care of on site, even when things change
- Accurate daily reporting: time, materials used, progress, blockers
Core responsibilities
- Lead a 3-person install crew (Lead Apprentice COO as crew member peak season)
- Read and execute plans, run layout, manage the daily production plan
- QC on hardscape, planting, grading, drainage, and site protection
- Coordinate material deliveries and usage to minimize waste
- Run daily safety briefings and enforce jobsite safety standards
- Keep the site clean and professional daily, protect property, manage customer interactions
- Coach and develop the apprentice in the field
Schedule expectations
- Full-time, year-round (design/build season is heavier)
- Typical schedule: Monday to Friday, with earlier starts (weather-dependent)
- Overtime as needed to hit milestones and protect customer deadlines (we plan ahead, we do not live in chaos)

We set pay based on (1) skill level, (2) leadership ability, and (3) ability to hit quality and efficiency targets.
- Base pay: hourly range (set by experience and skill level)
- Performance growth: increases tied to demonstrated leadership, quality consistency, and controlling hours (estimated vs. actual)
- Future upside: clear path to Senior Install Lead as volume grows

We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Crew Leader who takes ownership, leads from the front, and holds a high standard for equipment, safety, and workmanship.

What You’ll Do
- Lead by example in maintaining and repairing our fleet of lawn care and landscaping equipment
- Diagnose and fix both minor and major mechanical issues quickly to minimize downtime
- Keep our shop, tools, and workspaces clean, organized, and safe at all times
- Manage maintenance schedules and complete work orders efficiently and correctly
- Source, order, and replace parts to keep operations moving without delays
- Support the team with additional responsibilities as needed to keep jobs on track
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in equipment or mechanical maintenance (landscaping or small engine experience is a big plus)
- Strong working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostics
- Someone who takes pride in their work and doesn’t cut corners
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines without constant oversight
- Physically capable of handling a demanding, hands-on role
