Position Overview for Automotive Parts Manager
- Locate, order, and provide correct parts, accessories and merchandise while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Assist with service management and cross train with service writing
- Keep service writer(s) cross trained with parts
- Become knowledgeable and maintain all franchise and company policies and procedures
- Maintain control of parts inventory and control obsolescence; Get to and maintain 1.5 month’s supply of inventory
- Maintain profitability
- Will train to become A/B operator and maintaining records for DHEC
- Adhere to all safety and environmental protocols
- Oversee training for fixed operations
- Maintain parts department appearance and organization
- Maintain control of parts costs, system sourcing, and location/storage
- Maintain control of parts cores
- Monthly physical inventory reports on tires, oil, and cores
- Maintain and consistent watch on purchase orders (POs) through the CDK system; requiring POs be issued for all orders/purchases at time of order, assuring correct PO is recorded on all invoices
- Strong Control of the special-order parts (SOP) ; Must collect retail sales payments upfront; Keep in close contact with warranty SOP customers to ensure return for warranty install; Follow up daily on SOP list
- Every other Saturdays (8am to 12pm) is required
Requirements for Automotive Parts Manager
- Prior parts management experience in a franchised dealership.
- Management and Parts inventory experience is required.
- Pass Drug Test
- Good verbal skills
- Strong people skills
- Ability to interact with various levels of management and customers
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Maintain store appearance.
Job Type: Full-time
- Hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday through Friday
- Every other Saturday work is required, 8am to 12pm
5 years of parts managementincluding inventory management experience is required for Automotive Parts Manager; CDK experience is a plus.
