Superior is currently seeking a high-energy individual to work as a Spotter at our 400 W Regent Street location in Indianapolis, IN. The Spotter is responsible for driving, transporting and spotting trailers at appropriate loading docks, and or/staging areas.
This is a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday 8-5 with occasional Saturday overtime.
Responsibilities:
- Attach a drive unit to trailers to move to and from dock doors for loading and unloading.
- Inspects trucks and trailers for defects, before and after yard moves and notifies management of any issues.
- Ensure all trailers are properly placarded when loaded with hazardous materials.
- Stage, load, and unload containers including; pails, drums, and totes.
- Forklift operation.
- At times, will interact with external carriers for the flow of traffic throughout the campus.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required in accordance with the potential hazard and potential for exposure.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, clean operation of equipment.
- Will be cross trained in various responsibilities of Shipping and Receiving
- May be cross trained in positions including; handling of bulk product, inventory control, chemical packaging, fiberglass handling, tote cleaning, preventative plant maintenance.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong safety mindset
- Able to work independently
- Must have effective verbal and written skills, enabling clear and strong interactions with co-workers, chemists, administrative staff, chemical handlers and management.
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs
