2nd Shift Chemical Handler - Pump Station

Superior is currently seeking a high-energy individual to work as a 2nd Shift Chemical Handler in the pump station position at our Connersville, IN location.

Essential Duties

• Stage unloaded product, confirm all drum totals match paperwork, and check for leaking drums.
• Check all labels against paperwork, sample the drums according to procedure, and submit samples and paperwork to the lab for analysis.
• Transfer verified containers to pump station, pump product into appropriate holding tank, and transfer empty drums to storage trailer or crush them.
• Forklift operation.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required in accordance with the potential hazard and potential for exposure.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, clean operation of equipment and work area.
• May cross train in other functions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong safety mindset
• Fitness for respirator
• Must have effective verbal and written skills, enabling clear and strong interactions with co-workers, chemists, administrative staff, delivery personnel, and management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and smell.
• This position frequently stands and walks for longer periods of time.

To be considered proficient as a Chemical Handler – Pump Station, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, experience and/or ability required.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working with hazardous and non-hazardous materials and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to outdoor wet and humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk and hear; and smell.
