Position Summary
The Hospice Account Executive is responsible for developing and maintaining referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, case managers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals. This role serves as a key liaison between referral sources and Superior Hospice, driving patient admissions and promoting awareness of hospice services throughout the community.
This position requires local travel within a 50-mile radius using your own vehicle, with mileage reimbursement provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other referral sources.
- Educate healthcare professionals, patients, and families about hospice services and eligibility criteria.
- Generate qualified referrals and admissions through strategic business development efforts.
- Conduct in-person sales calls, presentations, educational events, and networking activities within the assigned territory.
- Identify new referral opportunities and create strategies to grow market share.
- Maintain consistent communication with referral sources to ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure seamless patient transitions and continuity of care.
- Participate in community outreach programs, health fairs, and professional networking events.
- Track referral activity, sales performance, and market trends using CRM and reporting tools.
- Manage assigned marketing budget effectively to maximize business development opportunities.
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual admissions and growth goals.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare sales, hospice sales, home health sales, medical sales, or a related healthcare business development role.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to travel throughout a 50-mile service area with mileage reimbursement provided.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a sales territory effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred:
- Previous hospice sales experience.
- Existing relationships with healthcare providers and referral sources within the local market.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, hospice eligibility, and healthcare regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
