What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse position at Superior Home Health Care?
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Assess and document patient symptoms, progress, and response to treatment.
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique during procedures.
- Assist with medical imaging procedures and cardiac catheterization.
- Catheterize patients as needed.
- Ensure proper coding and documentation of medical procedures using ICD-9 codes.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of medical records.
- Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) usage and maintenance.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
