We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Home Health Medical Office Intake Specialist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service via phone while maintaining professional communication and phone etiquette.
- Collect and review patient information, including medical history, insurance details, and demographic data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Verify insurance coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Enter patient data into electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and intake procedures for home health services while managing multi-line phone systems and utilizing office management software.
- Maintain organized medical records and files, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to health information management standards.
- Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry and assisting with front desk responsibilities to ensure smooth office operations.
Skills
- Ability to quickly learn new software system specific to home health.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, work joyfully within a team and have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience with insurance verification procedures for Medicare and other insurers; familiarity with care plans is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive patient information professionally; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Demonstrated clerical skills including typing (10 key), filing, data entry, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior clinic or medical office experience with familiarity in basic medical terminology and hospital or dental clinic environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy office setting while maintaining attention to detail; experience with multi-line phones and front desk operations is advantageous.
