Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to ensure health stability
- Support medication administration following proper protocols and resident care plans
- Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction
- Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling to prevent injury for residents and staff
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and infection control practices
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address concerns
- Follow resident rights policies to ensure dignity, privacy, and respect are upheld at all times
- Manage behavioral challenges through compassionate behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs
- Support residents with memory care needs by implementing specialized approaches for Alzheimer's and dementia care
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of geriatrics, dementia care, memory care, and home & community care environments
- Experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care support for individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring
- Hands-on experience in caregiving roles involving client communication, group home settings, or long-term care environments
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as safe patient lifting practices are a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently while maintaining resident safety
