What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborers (Millwright Crew) position at Superior Grain Equipment?
The General Laborer (Millwright Crew) is responsible for the daily manual labor of assisting our crews with the installation and erection of our metal grain bins.
Pay rate: $20 (Depending upon experience)
{This position requires travel during the week and overnights.}
Essential Job Functions:
- Efficiently and accurately assist with the installation and maintaining of grain storage equipment such as bucket elevators, conveyors, distributors, augers, spouting, legs, storage bins and tanks, structural towers, catwalks, platforms, etc.
- Perform welding duties, such as flat, vertical, and overhead stick welding
- Assist in the preparation of each project site
- Assist in loading, unloading, lifting and moving of materials, parts and tools, to and from site
- Assist crews with installation and erection of metal grain bins
- Operate hand-tools or construction site power-tools as needed
- Assist crew members with other tasks as needed
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Manual labor experience preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel on a continuous basis
- Ability to work in outdoor elements and work at heights
- Ability to work independently and with a team
Crew Requirements
- Required to travel overnights on a constant basis
- Required to work long hours in adverse weather conditions
Physical Demands
- Routinely sitting, walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, reaching and handling
- Ability to lift at least (100) pounds
- Working near moving mechanical parts; near noise routinely, and exposed to outdoor elements
- Work at heights
