EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
One year certificate from college or technical school and /or three to four years related experience and /or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
Directly supervises employees in the assigned production area.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations' policy and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
Supervises and coordinates all shift activities of assigned production area(s) engaged in the manufacture of wire and cable products by performing the following duties personally or through employees
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews production schedules to ascertain product data such as: types, quantities, specifications and scheduled delivery dates in order to meet customer requirements and assists in establishing necessary revisions
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products in assigned area
- Makes personnel assignments, maintains housekeeping and safety standards, interprets policies and procedures, observes assigned employees to ensure compliance with production and quality standards and conducts employees performance appraisals
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays and executes instructions from production management
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization as well as provided instructions on proper operations
- Assists engineering personnel with new process and designs
- Enforces rules, resolves worker complaints and problems and submits unresolved situations to production management for action
- Completes, maintains and forwards relative productions data and assists with monthly inventory
