POSITION OVERVIEW
The Buffering Operator is responsible for operating the buffering application machinery to apply protective coatings (buffers) to wires and cables, ensuring proper coverage and adherence specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
� Sets up machine per order requirements, consistently monitors machine processes to ensure proper settings and quality, completes job specifications and associated paperwork, records and enters data.
� Conducts quality checks at various stages throughout buffering process
� Performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance of buffering machines and maintains housekeeping in work area
� Uses and reads micrometers to measure and cut wire, places completed order in designated location, and communicates with supervisors & associates.
Education Requirements
� High school diploma or GED equivalent

� Entry level
License(s) and/or Certification(s) Required

� Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
� Ability to follow plant work rules, work instructions, safety rules and established processes, procedures & practices
