Position Overview
The Machinist performs general repair work and maintenance on all equipment. This position will operate industrial lathes, mills, drill press and grinding equipment. This position will also be required to fabricate or repair new or damaged parts, and perform routine preventative maintenance and servicing tasks such as oiling, greasing, and inspections on equipment.

This position will also be required to fabricate or repair new or damaged parts, and perform routine preventative maintenance and servicing tasks such as oiling, greasing, and inspections on equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Repairs existing equipment and spare parts when machining is required
- Measures pieces of production equipment when not in operation for excessive wear. This requires the assembly, calibration and use of inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges and calipers
- Prepares documentation of drawings, layouts, time sheets, work orders and cost reduction or safety proposals for work completed
- Helps to troubleshoot equipment by observing equipment operation from an alignment perspective
- Initiates necessary parts request form for required machine tooling so repairs can be completed.
- Stocks and orders materials which requires the employee to research machine tool handbooks and blue prints to determine part numbers or identification of needed tooling
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Three (3) years of experience as a Machinist
